oscillator question

Dug into the hydraulics this morning and found the following--- Had a to20 relief valve installed, When I removed it the end was missing. Ended up dropping out the entire assembly to remove end which was stuck in the pump. Control valve came out easy but left the oscillator assembly inside flopping around. It was missing an internal snap ring which allowed the valve to move away from the control valve. Is that snap ring available/part of a new control valve? Also, the oscillator stuck out the far end of the cover and could not be retained with the small bolt. Is there supposed to be a cover over the front end where the oscillator fits or is it supposed to be open?

Went back out and tried some shadetree repairs as follows. I made a small snap ring out of some piano wire and installed in the end of the control valve. Reseated the control valve/oscillator assembly. Replaced the to20 valve with a to30 valve. Nothing else looked worn and no sludge anywhere. Buttoned everything up and re installed. Had a wonderfull conversation with the linkage and the control valve when trying to reconnect the two. Watched the assembly movement while setting the quadrant and found the only location that gave full movement of the control valve was full forward on the quadrant plate as before the tear down.
Went looking for a 5x6 hay bale to test the results. Hay bale came right up off the ground with pump showing 1900psi and never wavered. Also found that with the new relief valve installed there was no settling of the lift with the pto de clutched from the transmission. Hooray
Thanks to all the advice this week before I tackled this one, made troubleshooting so much easier.
