Yesterday, I found my late uncle's TO-20 in the woods with trees growing through it. It was new about 1950 or 1951, I drove it quite a bit. The grandsons now use tractors of 80 or more HP in their farming. I have no idea what might be wrong with the tractor and have not talked with them about it. I already have more old stuff to restore than I can complete in my few remaining years. But one still dreams about "one more tractor". I know that those engine blocks did have a tendency to crack. If this one is cracked, what does one do for replacement? At what cost? What is the value of a junker TO-20?

Parts tractors are usually about $500-600 for the 20 or 30 in my experience. If tires are still good, maybe more. Good steering boxes are prized, as they aren't available new. Blocks can be repaired a couple of ways, brazing or pinning. Info in archives. I have a 30 with a pinned block and it has been fine for several years now. With 'trees through it' and probably dry rotted tires, I would think $500 is top dollar, and less would be realistic.
