I bought a TO-20 from a guy whoes dad was the original owner. The guy had sold it to a friend and two years later bought it back after the friend had a fire with it. When I bought it the ID tag was gone and the previous owner said it was missing when he got it back from his friend. Now to my question, is there any way to tell what year this is?

Thanks for the help guys. As soon as I can get time to check it out I will. This thing is in really good shape and it would be nice to know what I have. Thanks again.

On the TO tractors you will very often find a date cast into the trumpet housings that carry the axle-shafts, look on the front side for anything that looks like a date, the tractor would have been made about 4/5 weeks after the casting.

There is a way to approximate the build date by researching the casting numbers. This subject has been addressed before, if you'd like to search the archives.
I also wanted to say that's a very nice presentation you did.
