If the Hydraulic wont drop it is usually the Control Valve, nothing to do with the Relief valve or the Check Valve. When you tried to move the valve did it move or not, were you only moving the Control Fork, has the Control Valve become detached from the Control Fork at the bottom and is stuck in the Control Bush. The Check valve will usually look worn unless it is very new, it doesn't stick in the relief valve it just hangs on the spring when it is out. All that does is stop any back pressure onto the Pump. Has anyone been tightening the setscrews that hold the lift arms onto the ends of the Cross-shaft under the seat, if you tighten those it will stop it from lowering. If you are still in trouble with it, email me at:- fergusontractors(at)tiscali.co.uk tell me again what it is doing and I will send you the information what to look for in more detail....John
