My husband just got a Massey Harris Fergusion F-40 high crop that was garage kept and runs really well. We were tring to get an idea of what this tractor would be worth

They tend to run similar to the MH50s and the MF50s due to being extremely similar. $3500-$5000 here. The F40 being little rarer is a bit more desirable to the collector than its cousins. As far as working, they will all exceed expectations for a 30 horse, 50 year old tractor. HTH

It's kind of an orphan. "Rare" doesn't always mean "desirable".

..and the guy at the M-F parts counter is not happy to see you either. I know - I've had mine for about 12yrs. I've been fortuante to only need it for light duty but it has served me well. I paid $2500. with a load of city-farmer attachments.

Pam, so much depends on condition of high price things like tires, that it is hard to guesstimate from afar. But they didn"t make many F40s, and even fewer high crop, so it is fairly rare.

Buford is fortunate.. a good working 35 or 40 should be approximately $2500 to $4000 depending on condition..

I am now finishing my F40, complete restoration mine is a standard I gave $1700.00 for it at a sale, good tractor, tin was excelent, it ran good.no work needed on engine or tranny it to was shed kept, excelent tractor
