I have a question regarding a TO-30

I recently purchased an owners manual for my TO-30 and it says that the hydaulics work much like the ford's hydraulic system regarding moving the finger tip control lever up a little ways, and the implement is supposed to move up so far and then stop. My tractor dousn't work like that at all. When you move the lever up, it goes all the way up and when you move the lever down it goes all the way down. There is no hold position on it.

I was also wondering what the bolt on the side, right above the muffler, does. It looks like a drain bolt but the manual dousn't mention it.

Last but not least, I have 90wt gear oil in the hydrolic and differential and the book says to use "mineral oil" in the hydraulic, transmission, and differential. If so, where do I get mineral oil?

thanks
Morgan

Mine goes up and down and stops where I tell it. Why yours doesn't - don't know. Concerning oil - an old guy I know who sold and serviced these things new and for 50 years after told me use 90 weight. That's what the dealers used in later years.
