good pressure when cold gauge goes way down after a while it always did my grandad owned it but i am going to put on a new oil pan ?should i replace the oil pump

I just rebuilt mine. I still had decent pressure and I was amazed at the amount of lash between the pump gears. Rebuild it for sure.

the manual cals for 15 psig at lo idle rpm (400rpm) hot. If you are below that at hot lo idle by all means replace it. Since you are going through the trouble of replacing the pan, if you pressure is anywhere near the limmit I'd advise replacing it.

Yes change it, they are not the best oil pump in the world and it will have some wear on it by now.
