I need some information. We are rebuilding a TEA-20 and we are trying to identify the engine, Standard or Continental. Can't find the info in any of our manuals we purchased. The engine number is SC45481E. Can anyone help?
Sincerely,
John Marshall

John, If the name plate has a TEA designation it was built in Coventry England and is a standard engine. TE's were also built in Coventry England but had continental engines. TO's were built in Detroit and had continentals. If any doubt on name plate data check the oil filter location. Continental engines had internal filters. Standards have their oil filter located externaly on the left side of engine. Both the TE's and TEA's had lucas ignitions. TO's have delco systems.
Hope it helps and good luck,
Joe

John,
i can't read the engine no.
could read the serial no if u have it.
as far as i know-- the TE-20's & TE-B-20's used conti motors.
and
the TE-A-20's to TE-T-20's used Stand motors.
are the electrics on the motor, made by Lucas?
good luck. Manuel
