Can anyone tell me what Harry Ferguson model was the first introduced with live power? Was it the TO 35?

The first U.S. Ferguson with a 2-stage clutch was the TO 35. There was an aftermarket clutch available for the earlier models that went in between the transmission and differential.

It was a reduction gearbox, that was its main purpose, but they made it live PTO as well.

I think that tere also was a clutch pack without reduction.. John Smith's site shows one (pic above) and link below and his text in italics. They could be fitted to the Ferguson as well..

"Note the extra long lever coming out of the left side pto shifter cover on this 8N. This is the extremely rare Sherman live pto conversion for the 8N. The lever operates a manual clutch pack between the transmission and the rear end pinion gear. This allowed the tractor operator to start up normally with the pto engaged and then use the long lever to disengage the tractor drive and stop the tractor without stopping the pto. If you use the lever for stopping and starting and left the regular foot clutch alone you had a "live" pto."

I was commenting on the Ferguson Epicyclic Gearbox that was under discussion otherwise I may have mentioned this PTO clutch from Sherman Bros, the idea was good but from what I read they didn't sell very well.
