I have a TO-30 and just bought a new light weight tiller for it. I was having problem with the draft control on the tractor and made some adjustments which seemed to help. The second time I ran the tiller, the lift arms won't raise anymore. I thought the hydraulic oil might be low so I changed it all with fresh stuff, still wont lift. If I take the impliment off, the arms will raise. Anyone got any advice?

What did you "adjust"? The Draft control spring you should just be able to turn it when the mower is lifted. If is drops when you press the clutch pedal you have a leak. You need to find where it is leaking and repair it. If you need the information on what to check and where to look, email me at:-

tell me again what it is doing and I will send the Information to you.
The fault could be adjustment or a leak.

John I adjusted the hydraulic lift spring. When I bought the tractor the spring was so tight you couldn"t turn it with any kind of tool. I finally got it to the point where you could move it by hand. Pat

If you can just turn the Draft Control Spring when you have an implement lifted then it is correct. From what you tell me you need to look for a leak, if you email me I will send the information you need to find it, I can't send it on here. When you mail just tell me again what it is doing. fergusontractors(at)tiscali.co.uk

The oil in the Hydraulics and Transmission is GL190W or 15W/30 Multi-grade. The Multigrade is better if you live in a cold climate as it doesn't get as thick as 90W when cold. The 90W is NOT gear oil it is as thick as engine oil it is GL1 90W.
