I've pulled the PTO shaft out of my 30 to replace the seal. Figured it shouldn't be too tuff a job. I assume you remove the large inner snap ring and drive the PTO shaft out of the housing, bearings etc??? I'm having trouble getting it out. Do I just need a bigger hammer has I've found in the past on other things, or am I going about it the wrong way.
Don't want to get too rough with it and do other damage. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Tom B

I replaced the PTO seal on my MF-65 a few years ago. Same seal. I do not know if they are the same set-up or not.

On the MF-65 the snap ring and the bearing housing did not need to come off. There is an oil seal retainer (180 465 M1) that the seal slips into and an "o"-ring on the outside of the retainer.

I removed the oil seal retainer from the PTO shaft by hand no hammer. I did have to use a wood dowel as a drift punch and a hammer to work the PTO seal from the seal retainer.

To re-install the new seal I used my bench vise and a plank of wood to drive the seal flush with the seal retainer. To seat the seal all the way in I found that a 2" PVC coupler is the right diameter to slip into the seal retainer, catch the lip of the seal and stiff enough to push the seal into place. Again I used my bench vise to apply even force.

Here is the parts break out for the MF-65 I describe. You'll have to determine if it is similar enough to be helpful. I hope it is.

I get your drift but I'm not that far along yet. Haven't got the PTO shaft out of the bearing assembly. The Pic is similar to the 30 but different.
Thanks
