Hello folks.

Under the radiator on the TEA or TEF or so, there sits a valve to open to drain the radiator. Does anyone know if it is the same threads on that valve as the valve on the side of the block ? 1/4" BSP

Bill

Bill I would have said yes it is...but I just checked in the parts list and it says for the block it is 1/2" N.F.(825326M1) the Radiator tap is 1/4" BSP (826773M1) and is S63097.Sparex list a 1/4" BSP tapered tap for the Block S08440..But I am still almost positive we have used the same tap for both...or is the mind playing tricks again?..John

Hi John,

I have bought the S.63097 for the block, but it does not fit well. The new tap does not have a tapered thread, so it is almost impossible to enter in the hole.
I'll see what I will do. Thanks anyway.

Bill

National pipe tap (NPT) tapers 1 inch per foot in length and if the(npt) does not go in you can taper the (BPT) by running a(npt)in and enlarging it a little bit if neccessary. It has the same threads per inch.I have used the(NPT) quite a few times. It works. CENTAUR

Do you mean that the original thread in the radiator is NTP, even on the British TEA 20 ?

Bill.
