Actually, there is a reason old Harry designed it that way. It is so you cannot start it in gear. That said, it is replaceable from the top of the bell housing. Be sure to catch the actuating lever underneath with a piece of wire as you are removing it so it does not drop down or you are in a world of hurt.

Check with these folks first to see if they have one as suggested. Nice folks to do business with and for sponsoring this forum. If they do not, your local Massey dealer probably has it on his shelf. Mine did.

Old Chief, you may be right, but for what it's worth they're still listed on this sight,Part # 181679M1. I got mine at my local auto parts house. They had it on the shelf. Just take your old one with you cuz theres a couple different ones.

Check the parts people who sponser this discussion site. They gotem for $12.74. Click Tractor Parts on the left side of page, click Ferguson, then TO30 and look under Electrical Parts. It's only fair that we patronise the folks who give us the opportunity to communicate on their web site.

So0rry, but it disturbs me when we refer to other sites and don't even think about the people paying our bill. Now I'll step down off my soap box and shut-up. Glenn

Glen, maybe you shoulda never got up on your soap box to start with. Old Chief very plainly said he was informed that they were no longer available on this sight. He never said that he didn't want to buy it here, so I think your last statement is probably a great idea. He might know something that we don't.

Gee, I'm sorry I up-set you. All I know is that I was able to order one from them a while back and they still have them in the on-line catalog and the order cart is accepting orders. Also, I have seen other referals to other sites for items available here and just don't think it is right. But, I'm in California so what do I know?

Heck, I wasn't upset, but if I'd have been Old Chief I probably would have been. I just thought he took a reaming he didn't deserve. As for me, no harm done.

I think you may be able to get them from Sparex, check their website, and you,ll be able to see.It your not into making it the way it was, you can get a start switch from your auto parts store, just drill a hole some where to mount it, then run the wires from the original to it, turn on your key hit with your hand or foot.
