I am converting my TO-30 to 12 volt charging system. I have down loaded pics from this site on how to wire up the delco alternator. My question is. Don"t I have to put in some kind of resistor from the selinod to coil, or change out the coil? Which do I do? What is the Nappa part number to make this happen?

Thxs guys

The best thing to do is to change out the coil to a 12V coil, NAPA IC-14SB @ ~15$.

You need a resistor with value the same as the 6 volt coil resistance or a coil made for 12 volts that needs no external resistor. If you have a good coil, the resistor will be cheaper than a new 12 volt coil. If you think you need a coil then a new 12 volt coil is cheaper.

The NAPA number has been posted to some YT or AC forum in the past week or so. I don't have it memorized.
