My "53 TO-30 needs a new distibutor cap and rotor. I"ve reconditioned the old ones and it"s clear that the distributor works fine, so I do NOT want to replace it. The distibutor (Lucas) is mounted on the side and the cap has clips. Is there a source for the parts I need? If you have this information, please also provide the part numbers. All info much appreciated!

I believe the TO30 is equipped with a Delco distributor. Do you have the Z129 Continental engine?

Your TO-30 should have a Delco distributor,Model No. 1111740. That was the OEM part.

The Lucas parts maybe available from the parts folks on this site. They're available from Sparex (www.sparexusa.com) under TE-20 Parts , the rotor as Sparex S.42374, the Lucas cap as S.41169.

Have you checked the distributor for shaft and bushing wear? The limit is 0.002" so it should be really tight. If it's not, the spark performance will be poor.

It's definitely a Lucas. I have an e-mail in to Sparex. I have to say that the one cap I found on their site does not attach with side clips, which is what I need. I'm curious what they have to say.

The part number for the Lucas cap I gave you was from the special Sparex Ferguson Catalog that was provided to the Ferguson Enthusiasts of North America(FENA)members.
