Has anyone had experiance with the "sure seal" rear wheel seals on a TO-20? Seems like an easy fix, however, in my experiance easier isn't always better. (or even equivalent) I only want to do this once.
Thanks.

Great site George. I think I'll give these things a try.

I installed sureseals on my To-20 5 years ago. Have work great. You should repack the bearing every 1000 hours or so. Which means you will need to replace the sureseals with new ones but they are cheap. I replaced the factory seals twice . They would not last 6 months before they would start to leak.

That's my web site, I like seeing other people referencing it as a resource... that's why I made it! Thanks Doug!
Sure seals are a solid repair job for old, leaky TO-20 axle seals. It is easy compared to replacing the original axle seal, and it is a long lasting fix if done correctly. I don't agree with the need to re-pack the bearing every so many years.... unless your driving your TO through high water. Just pack the bearingt good with grease (best you can) before installing the sure seal.

I have a TE 20 with the same issue. Do the sure seals fit it? Is it a good, long lasting repair? Is there some reason the left axle seal fails more often than the right?

I did Sure seals on a 9N that I had for a short while. Pack the bearings with grease as best as possible prior to seal installation. I drove mine in with a 3" long PVC pipe the same diameter as the seal. I also ran permatex #2 around the outer edge prior to installation and they went in with no problem. I currently have a TO20 that is going to get the same treatment soon enough.
