Seat for my TO35

I have restored my old 55" TO35 and I bought an aftermarket seat to bolt onto it. I had to choose carefully because most of the seats sit too far forward and I could not get my knees bent up that far. Unfortunately, the only seat I could find bolts directly to the tractor and has no springs. I want to buy a new seat but I wanted to pick your brains first. I see that they offer the pan seat with cushion but it does not appear to have a spring under it. I also see that there is a strap spring with a pan seat and a "flip-up" bracket. I weigh 275 pounds. Will the strap spring hold my weight up or will it be bottomed out all the time? My little bottom is sure taking a beating when I mow. My Allis Chalmer has the strap spring but it also has another coil spring under it for added springing action. I would appreciate to hear your thoughts before I send some more good money after a bad idea.

Obviously the '55's are superior. Ours has a contraption with adjustable jointed levers, a coil spring & shock. There are notches in the seat frame in which the 'levers' can be changed. The notches are worn & it is not 'springy butt seat has cushions & is comfortable except it tilts forward & feels like going to fall out. I cant seem to move anything on it to adjust it. I understand someone put this on the tractor. People were smaller in '55 & tougher!

Well guys, I went to E bay and looked up a supplier that I have bought stuff from before and he recommended that I try the universal seat. He says it has shocks on it so I should get some cushioning, even for my fat butt. I will try this and let you folks know how it works out. My biggest issue is getting the seat back far enough that I do not have to sit with my legs curled up while I am working.

Mine is a 1960! TO 35 Deluxe with the pan seat. My bottom would be happier if the seat had some type of spring action. I see the Standard models with the plain seat mounted on a spring. Can that be used with the pan seat?

Bob, sorry I don't have a quick answer for you on the seat, but your post piqued my interest. I live in Clark County, where are you? I also have a '55 TO-35, how cool is that? If you ever want to contact me for any reason, my email is mferguson165@hotmail.com. As an aside, have you ever noticed nearly all TO-35's on this site are 1955 models? Good luck and have a great week!!
