I recently acquired a To30 which I intend to restore. I think it's a 1950 but not positive. I'm in the process of rebuilding the head and replacing the rings and bearings. I am interested in finding a clean grille (mines tweaked to the point that it would be hard to straighten) and the Ferguson emblems for the hood. Any good sources of these and other parts would be appreciated. I'm also not sure of the colors of the original tractor?

David: Thanks for the response. I took my grille to my son who has access to a guy who can sandblast all of my body parts (actually, not my body parts but those of my tractor) and skim them and paint them to original colors. All he wants is the cost of the materials and probably a case of decent beer. It looks like the front of the "hood" under the emblem on the front has been pushed in about an inch. Since I don't have an original to look at, I really don't know what it should look like. I'm hoping to find a restored tractor in my area that I can have a look at. I'm still not sure of the original colors, but I kind of like the red and gray scheme. I may just go for that whether its correct or not. I doubt if I would ever get to the point of trying to show this one. I live way out in the country of Northern California and I am seeing a lot of old tractors that are sitting around on peoples property and not being used. Most probably don't run, but there are a lot that are in physically good shape. Most of these people would love to get a few bucks for these old relics..

Hope to hear back, Alan

Alan: The TO-30's were solid gray (Ferguson or Battleship gray). There are numerous links and doing a search of the discussion forum achives on this site for paint colors, etc. will give you great info. There are many sites that have good pictures of restored Ferguson Tractors. I have a spare hood also, though it may not be much better than yours. Keep us posted, David
