Hood medallions on TO-20

I'm a regular on the green board, but I have an unusual question for you Ferguson folk.

A friend of mine tells me his dad bought a TO-20 in 1949. He is sure that the tractor did not have a little Ferguson medallion at the rear center of each side of the hood.

He is also sure that the next year's models (1950) had this little medallion. When the new ones came out, his dad went to the dealer and ordered two of the medallions to put on his suddenly outdated tractor.

Does anyone have a clue to when this medallion was put on the hood, or even if this could have been the case?

The story is possible. Early TO-20 did not have the side nameplates. They were on later TO-20's. I do not have specific references to any year that the change was made. Though the story is very plausible.

My Dad bought a TO-20 new in 1949 and it did not have the medallions at rear of the hood. Our neighbor bought a TO-20 in the early 50's and his had the medallions.

This is only semi-related to the topic. My 48 TE-20 didn't have the side medallions either. Someone can correct me, but I think that none of the TE tractors of any year had them?

Thanks for the reply. I only ever knew of one TE-20 in my area of Indiana, and I haven't seen it for 50+ years. You may be right.
