I'm working on a 1949 TO-20 that won't spark, Wiring was in teriible shape but has been replaced and it still won't spark, Timing is OK and points, rotor, and dist. cap are all new. I'm thinking coil, regulator, or plug wires. Any suggestions on where to go first?

Check the wire fron the points to the coil.Once mine wore the insulation off at the dist. housing and shorted. Took me about 3 days to locate it. The point spring can also twist and touch the housing, but sounds like you have covered that. Just think though, how dull life would be without challenges.

See if you have spark from the coil. If not, go to local discount auto parts store and get $15 coil. If you have coil spark, it could be condensor. You have changed most everything else.
