Doing some repairs to a TEA-2085 need to find a subsitute for Titanine. In an earlier post someone suggested hylomar blue, wondering if Loctite makes a product suitable.

Why do you need to find a substitude for Titanine, can't you contact a local air club and see if they have some ? Ask for JC5A. It was and still is used on aero engines all over the world.

If your concern is regarding the joining of dissimilar metals, I looked on website www.mcmaster.com. Did a search for antiseize. On catalogue page 2084, they offer a nickel based product. According to the 'blurb' there, this should work.

Dennis,

Thanks for the input it looks like the nickel based product will work. I'll see if a local auto parts store has some thing similiar. Where are you in Ohio? We are near East Canton.

Is Faith Family Church the one on Stratmor near where I-77 comes through to Whipple and Everhard?
The attendance there is huge! We were at the Marriott Residence Inn this past Sunday and noticed there were people directing traffic.

Andy. After discussion with paint manufacturers etc I used "HiChem" Super Etch Primer on all surfaces. It is a one pack gray etch primer in a pressure pack which has "outstanding anti-corrosive properties."

I included the link below. It is an Australian product however something similar would be available in every country.

Titanine? It that the coating to stop electrolosis between dissimilar metal joints, originally an orange color?

If it is, I did research months ago and came up with one pack gray primer in a spray can which the manufacturer confirmed could be used to avoid electrolosis. I also a copper based anti seize on all bolts.

There is a thread on the subject back four or five months ago.

Bob,

If electrolosis is the problem wouldn't a nonconductive material be more suitable for this application, such as a urethane or silicone based gasket material.

Google has 32 pages on titanine. I think you might be able to get it someplace. John UK was looking into it at one time. I don"t remember the outcome.
