ok i got my te20 nearly done so i fired it up and hooked up the woods rm59 mower i got and fixed up also. the front swivel wheels hit the rear lugs on the tires. the mower has the front wheels added and i would like to keep them. looks like if a make extension plates for the lower pins and a extension for the top link it would move it back far enough for clearance and driveshaft would be ok. i could not find any extensions on the web anywhere. i am assuming that i have to keep the top link connection and bottom pins in the same plane. anybody have a problem like this before and what was your solution?

well i moved the front wheels towards the middle and now the mower hooks up and raises up perfect. ran the mower in me and my neighbors front yards and it seems to mulch leaves good. quite the industrial leaf mulcher! brand new set of gator blades. wont know how it cuts grass till springtime.[/img]

i already have both new stabilizer bars installed. that is not the problem. after talking it over with my neighbor i guess i am going to move the front wheels towards the inside and see how that works. hopefully the mower will be stable and follow the contour of the ground when mowing. a rm 59 mower comes with only rear wheels and you are supposed to run limiting chains in the front. mine had a anti-scalping roller installed too but the bushings were wore out and did not see a need for it with four swivel wheels. i will get it working just little disappointed that it just did not hook up.

You need to use stabilizer bars to keep the mower straight behind you. A kit costs ~$40 and includes the bars, the pins and the brackets.

i thought about moving the wheel brackets towards the inside but think i would lose some stability. i never thought about widening the rear tractor tires. that may be the best answer though i may want to drive this tractor in the woods and that hampers that. i brought some scrap metal home from work thinking about extending . guess i will put on my thinking cap and figure it out. the quickhitch does not extend far enough back i am pretty sure.

Yeah, I had the same problem with a King Kutter rotary mower, thought I was going to tear lugs off the tires before I fixed it. Your idea in your first post was the way I did it. Extended plates for the lower pins and extended the arms from the rear of the mower to the top link. I have pictures and dimensions if you want. Probably cost $75. wwote@comcast.net

Can you just not move the position of the front wheels inwards so they don't catch the tyres. We have that problem with a mower over here and we are able to do that to enable it to fit without any problems. If you can't do that can you widen the rear wheels of the tractor to miss catching them?.John

Are you using stabilizer bar(s)? If so, they will keep the mower straight behind tractor. If not, the mower can drift a little, toward a tire, and that may be your problem?

Buy a quick hitch. It will add about 3 to 4 inches of length. I use my a lot, and I love not having to get off the tractor to switch from plow to blade, etc.
