I recently bought myself a ferguson tractor, the serial number on the dash is giving me some problems in identifying the year. The serial number is as follows TEA235090 What does the "A" mean. I think the "T" Stands for tractor and the "E" Stands for England, but the letter "A" has got me stumped. The tractor came with an original Ferguson loader, is this what the "A" stands for? Any help would ge great. The tractor is going to be a real beauty and I cant wait until warm weather to start the restoration. Thanks Again

Barry

Barry, As has been stated you have a petrol engined Ferguson, built in England in 1951. If you write to Friends of Ferguson Heritage, PO Box 62, Banner Lane, Coventry England CV4 9GF, they should be able to give you the exact date of build.
If you are restoring a Fergi this is a worthwhile club to join, we do like to get our restorations exactly right, so theres lots of technical advice, etc as well as a quality colour magazine.
Hope this helps,
Pete.

Barry: As far as I understand the "A" stands for standard petrol (gas). So, your TEA should have been manufactured in England (Tractor England) and have a Standard built engine that runs on petrol (gas). The following website should help a little Link
Additional>Link links from this site will help with the year, etc. Good luck, David

There are additional links to Ferguson clubs and restoration pages found at the H.Ferguson page here. Most of these are purists, they restore to the exact original for thier model.
