To 20 tire sizes

i recently bought a 49 to20 and it has 2 different size tires.one a 11.2by28 and one 12.4by28. my question is can i run a 12.4by28 as this tire is new and the other is worn out. will it change my gearing to much? thanks anyone

I have a feeling that the two sizes are actually the same thing. 12.8 was the old measurement and 11 the new one. I could be wrong but I think the Goodyears on my TEF have both sizes on. HTH

I have seen guys replace the originals with this wider tire to get more traction. The small gearing change shouldn't be noticable. I have the ground speed specs. for 10x28 and 11x28; they are: 10x28=1.48mph @1500rpm and 11x28=1.58 @1500rpm in first gear. Fourth gear is: 9.84 and 10.24 respectively.
