I posted a good while back about a Ferguson 30 that I was looking at .

Well the lady who has it decided to take my offer .

It is complete and is only missing the tailpipe and muffler . Has a weird paint job of an odd blue and yellow wheels . Could not get it to fire but it would turn over freely . No spark at all . Got any ideas ?

It comes with the following Ford equipment : single bottom plow , scrape blade , cultivator , and disk .

I got it all for $ 1250 .

Good deal ?

Got to pick it up this Saturday . Am going to take my 2N to load the equipment . Any ideas on the no fire problem ?

I can fix my Ford but don't know much about this 30 .

How much HP does this 30 have ?

Thanks for putting up with a Fergie Newbie !

Just wornering, where are you located, I bought a to 30 in MA that was also painted that way. as for the no fire, check points, clean contacts w/ fine emery or sandpaper, I've also had to replac the coil on mine.

Scott,
I am in central NC . I have been told that the man who owned it did the "custom" paint job .

I will try cleaning the points when I get it home .

Thanks,
Ford Man

Sounds like you got a deal! Trace the 6V system from the point where you first find voltage (the battery), to the ignition switch, to the coil, to the dist. You will probably find the problem at the dist. Corroded points are quite common with seldom used equiptment. Moisture is the villian. Drawbar HP is 19.2; PTO HP is 27.9. The only true HP is drawbar; this is what you have available to plow etc.You can get a new one piece muffler at a MF dealer, I get mine at the local Ford dealer.Just ask for a Ferguson TO30 muffler, they have a different bend in the exaust portion, and a larger flange than the Ford.
