Does anyone know a easy way to get your brakes working right If I run it a couple of days it gets so it has pretty good brakes but then it sits around outside and I am right back where I started. It gets pretty hairy down here in the hills. I got about a ninety foot shear drop in back of my cabin and I ain't into hang gliding.

Don't forget that you can also adjust to brakes manually as they wear.
From the back side of tractor, there (is supposed to be) small oval rubber plugs that are covering the adjustment holes.
There is a star shaped wheel that is on a threaded rod. with a large flat screw driver, you can move the star counter clockwise to lengthen the threaded rod and "push" the pad further apart. -thus taking up for worn pad distance. Not so far as to bind the pads and make them rub the drums ALL the time.

Is it possible that you have an axel seal leak?
Do you see and "shiny stuff" on the back of the brake drums?
I know my dad would "set" new brakes by jacking up rear end and putting tractor in gear and holding brakes down while rear tires were turning.
Maybe you could start each time on tractor with "riding brake pedals" as short time to warm them up and clear off residue?
