Around here, a few TEA20s have had Continentals substituted. Seem to fit except the block appears shorter by about an inch, requiring shims. The original braces under the engine seem to be tossed away. Anyway, the one I've got has a bad antifreeze leak into the pan. I'm considering my own kind of swap. Does anyone know the bolt pattern and bell housing outline, for the purposes of making an adapter plate. Do you know if it is the same as Ford? I have several options, including Ford 4cyl, Ford 3cyl, Jeep 4cyl and Hudson Jet 6 cyl. Jeep is my first choice. Has agricultural proportions as does the Hudson. (long stroke). Mostly worried about starter location and governor. I would appreciate any input before I start to open it up and accumulate parts. I have a Hobart welder located with a Jeep industrial engine, cheap. If someone has already done this, then I would go try something different. No fun doing the same old thing.

Before attempting a very time consuming and costly venture, look back at some old posts concerning a product called "liquid glass". Some guys report very good luck sealing leaks with it. I don't remember who posted it, perhaps some one will jump in who knows about using it. Good luck!
