That is correct. Narrowing the track caused interference with the mud guard. This is the first time I have seen an extended handel. The other picture I have seen to solve this problem had a sliding handle like a C-clamp.

The extended handle does not look as pretty, but is much more functional than 1/2 turn, slide, 1/2 turn, slide, 1/2 turn.....

The Yellow thing is a Allman Speedometer. It was attached to the front kingpin and had a runner wheel that ran up aginst the tractor tyre. Much like bicycle speedometers do. You can just see the runner wheel peeking out from behind the speedometer post.

Just to clarify a few minute details... The above picture is of a TEE (Narrow - note hubcaps and skinny wheels)

Per Michael Thorne's book, the TE20 in Detail the hubcaps were on the Narrow Fergusons and the Vineyards did not have the hubcaps. Seem backwards but this is how they made them. The Vineyard models had rotated fenders to protect grape vines.

The all the TE models used the same king-pins. The Vineyard and narrow models had modified rear axels/trumpets and the front carriage was also adjusted to the narrower width.

The Narrow tractors used the same wheels, though the rear wheels were narrow.

The Vineyards had smaller diameter wheels to lower the tractor CG. I think 16" (40cm) instead of the 19" (50cm) standard.

Here is a TEL Vinyard. Note not hubcaps, standard width wheels, and rotated fenders. (the leading edge is further down the wheel than normal. I do not know if these were special fenders or there was a bracket that "rotated them toward the front. Looking close at the left fender it looks as if it is a standard skin that is mounted on the aft edge as opposed to the center of the skin.

Also note the extended leveling crank on the right lift arm.
