I have just bought a Ferguson (motor)/(it says Ford on the fenders) and I am not sure what it is. The serial number on the motor is
Z129-346740
Does anyone know what model this is?

The Z129 is the 129ci 3 1/4 X 3 7/8 motor used in the TO30, the comp.ratio is 6.5:1. If you can find the S#, the mfg. year can be established. The Fords and Fergusons were nearly identical in appearance some years, its possible someone has switched fenders. Its been said that the MF dealer can look up the numbers you give and discover the date of mfgr. for the engine, but I've not tried it.

Where is the serial # normally located. I haven't taken the time to look.

The serial number for the tractor is located just under the steering wheel on a plate between the wheel and the dash. If that is gone then you are going to have to try taking the casting numbers to a MF dealer as Ray said. The Z-129 was factory in the TO-30 but I think I've read that they will bolt up to a TO-20.
