Hopefully below is a part photo of the dash. In the lower hole with the red wire through it is an oval shaped hole with straight sides. How does a round Ign switch fit here? Does anyone have the Ign switch that will mount here or any idea short of drilling to make one fit? The hole on top with the wire through it is for what? The red charge light indicator is on the other side of the steering column. I suspect currently this is not original and should have been plugged. The square hole is where the missing carriage bolt goes.

Bruce, the large hole is for a ampmeter the small hole to the left is for a light switch the hole that is lower is for the ign. switch. It has two flats to keep it from turning loose from vibration they may be hard to find. Hope this helps, John

Bruce after looking through the shop manual it says the TO-20 did not come with a ammeter and that is what the warning light was for to let the operator know the battery was discharging. That large hole had a button plug in that spot which could be taken out to install a ammeter. Also says the ammeter will not work if installed in PLACE of warning light. Some other wiring changes has to be made as outlined in the manual. Richard

Bruce,

On my TO-20 the large round hole is where the temperature gauge goes and the small round hole to the left is where a pull out swtich that turns on the lights is. My keyed ignition switch fits into the hole underneath with the straight sides - that makes sure the switch does not start turning around and around as you twist on the key to put it in the start position. The ignition switch I have is a 3 position switch that is wired like the wiring diagrams for the TO-30 - it is maybe original with the bakelite type enclosure on the back side with just terminal scews.

Hope this helps.

Stan

Bruce I read your post wrong. Anyway this site has ignition switches for the fergies. If you want to make sure it is flat on 2 sides email them and ask. I was reading your post as you had a ferguson 50. Sorry

I don't have a TO-50 but I would think if you could get to AGCO they should have the proper switch that will fit in there. I have seen switches that are flat on two sides and that is what you seem to be needing. Possibly Sparex or some other parts supply house could get you one. I would try for the correct one before drilling out to a round hole. Good Luck Richard

the small hole on the upper left is an indicator light showing the ignition is on,the bigger hole is for an ammeter, the oblong hole is for the key, starter switch
