I recently had to change the pto output shaft because it was leaking around the bearing. I appreciate everyones help with their input on what type of oil to use. I ended up using Rotella 15W40 and appears to be working really well with improved response on the 3pt lifts, and I mean much better, jumps up without hesitation. I however need to find out if there is a reason why it slowly drops over time with weight on it. I am not sure if there is a problem somewhere or if that is just normal. Also I thought I would let everyone know if they want the original shaft for restoring a show tractor as it is the original 1 1/8" shaft. If you are interested, feel free to contact me.

Thanks again,
Eric

As Phil says it is just fine. you must remember that it is not a sealed system and it will leak slowly. Never park the Tractor with an implement raised anyway, there is a danger that it may cause the Control Valve to stick, so rather than have all that problem, just lower it to the ground when you park up...John

With any weight, say a scraper blade, if it holds up 10 minutes you can feel good about it. I have a 30 that will hold a dump bucket full of rocks up a couple of hours or more, but that is very exceptional.

This is a quote from John(UK) that he sent to me some time ago:"The factory test was 15 mins but really anything over 5 mins is good enough, the Pump can take care of any leaks at that drop rate."
