Next project some implements that I will need.
I have nearly finished making a PHD and a Slasher from 2 differentials out of a old 4x4.
Buying new ones just will not happen and there is almost no second hand market here so make my own or do without were my options.
Now that I have the FEL running I can spend the time to finnish off my slasher and PHD.
The PHD is closest to completed. I used a diff from a 4x4 to reduce the PTO speed and turn the drive 90 degrees so that I could connect an auger. Then I just welded up a frame to support the diff and auger bit from the 3 point link. The only down side was that my diff was off set so that one axle shaft was longer than the other. I had to use the longer axle shaft as my drive so that it turns in the correct direction for the auger. Never mind if it all works out I will have a tall PHD for less than $100.
The slasher is at the moment only a frame with a diff mounted to increase the PTO rotation speed and turn it at right angles. Once I have some daylight I will post a couple of photos. please feel free to comment or critique, as I always learn a lot from this forum.

Be very very careful!! Check it and double check it.
I once picked out the remains of a bloke twisted up around his auger and screwed into a 9 inch hole. Very very messy. Not a nice way to go. :(
When ever I see one it sends a shiver up my spine.

Check it and check it again and for heavens sake don't try and force the auger to dig by leaning on the gear box area. If you get caught up in it you won't out run it.

However despite the tale of missery I hope it works well. Post a picture of it. :)

Some years ago an acquaintance in Brisbane built a post hole borer using an old Holden diff; I borrowed it and it worked very well. The diff was slung beneath a home made three point linkage crane. Two uses from one implement!

I have a home three point linkage crane but it is at my home in Brisbane so can't send photos. Basically a triangular angle iron frame, two "points" fit the two lift arns, the RHS crane boom connects to the tractor top link and pivots on the top "point" of the triangular frame. Works great and will probably lift 300 or so kg.

Now you have your hydraulics working, have you thought of a simple hydraulic log splitter? Oh, that's right, you live in the tropics and don't have fires in winter! :(
