The lift on my TO30 seems to be working o.k.,but I notice a constant "clunk, clunk, clunk" noise while holding an implement in the fully raised position or anywhere in between.Once the implement is lowered all the way down, the noise goes away.Any ideas as to what's going on?Also, I can't seem to adjust the quadrant on my lift .I followed the directions in the service manual, but the lift will not begin to lower until the lever is about half way down.I would appreciate any help. Thanks,Milton K.

The clunking you hear is probably excessive clearance in the pump cam to piston actuator blocks. If it is not to noticible except when loaded heavy you are probably ok. as far as the top cover adjustment is concerned the draft control master spring and the cam inside is probably worn. The pin that rides on the position cam inside is also probably worn also. you or a good wrench head needs to pull the top and go through it. this sounds bad but it is really not. just get a good manual and you will get the job done. plus while you have the top off you might as well pull the PTO shaft and drop the pump and visually check it fo wear or breakage in the block area. if the tractor is from a cold cliamate it may have frozen in the pump area sometime and swelled the pistons. good luck!
