Hydraulic Fork and thanks

When I had my tractor apart I noticed that the fork under the top cover for the hydraulics had been repaired. Looks like it had worn through and had a piece welded over it. Now that it is back together it won't adjust properly. My local salvage yard doesn't have anything much better. Do any of you know where I could get one?
Just wanted to say thanks to all who responded to my throttle problem. I haven't had time to work on it yet but I really do appreciate the help.

Ray and Neil, I just finished rebuilding the lift assembly in my TEA-20. Water had condensed on the top over the years and rust was on forks, cylinder etc.
After disassembly and wire wheel work and sandblasting I coated the entire area, not submerged in oil, with Glytal paint. It is used in the electrical industry for insulation on motors and transformers and can be submerged in oil with no effect. Water resistance is excellent. Other than being heavy, removal of the lift assembly may well be worth the effort on these tractors just as a preventive measure. I'm glad to see your findings paralelled what I found.
Just an idea, hope it helps.
Joe

Joe

Thanks for the info. Very good idea and I have some Glyptal left from doing the engine.

Neal I got one from Farm&country, when I restored mine. The one in the tractor was welded like yours, and I had the same problem. F&C does'nt list all available parts so you must call and ask if they have one. You're right though, the hyd. fork is getting rare. It isn't covered with oil and the accumulated moisture rusts it away. Hope you find one, Ray
