I took the tank off of my TO20 to flush it out and I'm hearing clanking like there's one or two large pieces of metal and a small piece like a screw or nut inside the tank. Is this normal and if it is what is it? I've been having stalling problems for quite a while now. Thanks, Alan

There are 2 baffles inside the tank. They break loose and cause the rattling. Mine has done the same thing. I think this is a common problem. They are just spot welded in.

My TO30 has that rattle also. I think there's a baffle of some sort and whatever ir is is on the other side, because I can't see anything. Anyone else?
BTW, what part of California are you in?
Chuck

Chuck, Thanks for the response. I'm located in Valley Springs, about 30 miles east of Stockton. Where are you?

Too Funny.. I live about 30 miles southeast of Stockton--Oakdale. My old boss, Rex Sims, lives in Valley Springs and has a Ferguson '35. It's indeed a small world.

Chuck, Good to know there's another Fergie guy around. Actually, I know another guy in Valley Springs that has a TO20 which is in pieces. I'm not a working person, although my wife won't let me call myself retired, but I do get to Oakdale fairly often. I'll give you my phone # and we could have breakfast or lunch sometime. I'm also an avid black bass fisherman and have several farm ponds I can access. If that interests you also, give me a call at 209-772 2155. Alan

Sounds great!! I don't to get to stop working for another 12 years still.. I envy you. I used to go to Hogan Resevoir (sp?)@ Wrinkle Cove for Stripers. Not too succesful tho. I work for Home Depot in Modesto selling appliances. (Somebody has to.) Rex Sims is the store mgr for Circuit City in Mo'town, which is where I worked until they stopped selling appliances.
My phone # is (209)847-5443.
Maybe there's enough of us tractor people in this area to have a monthly breakfast. That would be way cool.
However, I'm going to be up to my armpits in alligators for the next few months. It seems that Cal Trans wants to take our house for a bypass. There's lots to do to get ready for that.

I'll keep you posted.
Chuck
