Well it looks like my generator is dead. I unhooked the wires and put an VOM on it while running the engine and no volts. Called my local Auto Zone and no luck. All I have been able to find is an rebuilt 12V generator for a 35. Will this work on my TO 20. It has been changed over to 12V by the way. Or does anybody konw if it can be rebuilt?

Take the gen to a good local repair shop that everyone uses. I started doning that 10 years ago when a rebuilt alt with 10000 miles shot its bearings and I discovered the truth about rebuilding parts that come from Auto Zone ect...
They only replace the worn out stuff, not the almost worn out things. So for the same price you get yours done right usually the next day. My guy has rebuilt everything from tractors to cars, lawnmowers and boat engine. Some of that stuff is pricey new and I haven't bought a new alt or starter since. I usually pay in the neighborhood of $45 for an alt or starter.

Yes they can be rebuilt. When I got my TO-20 the generator didn't work. I took it to a local shop that repairs starters and alternators. A good cleaning was all mine needed. You might just need new brushes.
