My dad bought a Ford-Ferguson 9N 1940 in 0ct-nov 1939. All implements were Ferguson. In 1952 he had to choose between a 8N 1952 and a TEA 2080 or perhaps a TEA 2085. Finally he bought a 8N 1952(distributor on right). During 49 years, we have repaired only the charging system and replaced the bendix. Beside the starting nightmare(prior to newer bendix model and 12 volt system) this tractor was great. Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to work with a Ferguson 2080/85. Anyone on this forum had the opportunity to work many hours with a TEA 2080/85 and a 8N 1951/52 at about the same time ? Which one was more pleasant to work with and which one was more reliable ? I just want to know your opinion on these great tractors.
Best regards, Roger
