Just had to write back in and tell everyone on here thanks for all the info on the conversion. I went ahead with it about September and am kicking myself for waiting as long as I did! All those days of going out to the country only to have to charge up before ever trying to start it. Those days are over! Had not had it started since deer season(november) went out today and tapped the starter...1/2 a crank and tyhe old man was ready for business!!! Just makes me grin everytime I hit the starter..

While some consider your act a desicration most will agree. Some things simply deserve to fall by the wayside, period. 6volt ignition is so frought with limitations and unnecessary expenses its just plain lousey. That goes double if you live anywhere North of Virginia. If youre going to really use the thing you should switch. Flame suit on.

I hear you. I really enjoy to see the old restored tractors at the shows and so forth and I commend the people that do this as their hobby for they are usually the ones answering the tough questions and helping all of us "newbies/(dummies)
with our problems. But old Fergie has been with us for almost 12 years and even though everyone calls him by name he is still my workhorse/foodplot tender/log+deer dragger(if I get luckey)/riding mower+automobile rescuer not counting the countless rides he has given. The boys first vehicle to learn how to drive and the fun with that alone is enough. The many times you just jump on and take a ride along the edge of the woods looking for scrapes or rubs. No the old man still has a pretty good life on our place. Still gets his hood and fenders waxed occasionally oil is always LIGHT brown and plugs are always clean. But it was time for the conversion.
