Is it possible to identify a TEA20 by it's engine number? I can see a number on the left side which starts with "s". Is there any pattern which they go by, or a date of manufacture for engines? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Andrew
There are ways to narrow down the year of manufacture but it will take some time and checking parts
I am helping to identify 4 tractors at the moment so e-mail me if you would like some help.

I have a '54 TEa 20. Directly under the steering column on the dash you should find the ID plate. It may be painted over or missing, hopefully not missing.

The short answer is "No."

If you tell me the number I can at least let you know what engine you have. Most TEA's were made in the late 1940's. There were 2 English configurations for petrol and vaporized oil.

My engine number is S105###F (# because I can't remember the last three digits and I'm too tired to go out and check for sure) and my TEA is a 1949 with the Standard Vanguard engine. It has a brass insert in the head's cooling channel.

What carburetor do you have?
