I found a TE-20 for sale. Ad says all it needs is a starter and paint (yea sure) and wants 800. I think I read that this is a european version of the TO (or vice versa). Would I expect any greater problems getting parts for the TE over the TO?

Parts cost about the same, availablity is about the same it just depends on whether you go to Canada for parts(TE) or the States(TO). Canada can get both. I any case the parts are cheaper then the Ford parts so your in good shape either way.

Your parts availability (used parts) would likely be better for the TO in the USA than the TE, the opposite is true in Canada where a large # of the European (english) tractors were sold and still operate. Either way Massey Ferguson dealers (here in Canada) can still get a variety of parts for either. The parts In my cheap humble opinion are costly this way. I have a "secret" tractor boneyard near my place with 6 well picked over TEA's that keeps me running cheap (that word again)
