I rebuilt my marvel-schebler carb. All was well until next morning and gas was dripping out of the air breather hose. I have installed all the rebuild parts and checked the 1/4 float adjustment, but still the leak. any ideas or do you know my problem??

Could be trash in the gas coming between the needle and seat.

Could be that the seat did not go down on its gasket properly.

Could be that the float is touching the sides of the float chamber.

Could be that the float has a hole in it and is partially filled with gasoline.

Zane, I know the float doesn't have a hole, I didn't see any rub marks on it. I'll chech to see if seat and gasket are ok if i have to take it apart again. Could be dirt in gas I guess. I think I may have to put a zipper on it if I take it apart too many more times! I was wondering if the seat just needed time to set in? Thanks for your help.

Ben, we like to splice an automotive type fuel filter in the gas supply line between the tank and the carb. It really cuts down on the carb leaking problems.
