860 lift problems

The 3 point lift on a newly purchased 860 is plagued with a lifting problem. the lift only works when the handle is all the way up, and will not hold in any spot other than completely up. I believe that the problem is coming from the addition of a hydralic valve bank hooked into the tractor hydralics, under the seat. (I believe it is called power beyond?) Can anyone help clear this problem up and does anyone have a stock plate out there so I can remove the valve body.

If this valve is a factory remote valve, I'm sure that's not what is causing your problem. If it's something obviously homemade, then maybe so. Check out a parts or repair manual to ID the thing.

Are you sure you are not running with the tractor in "draft control"? If you are not sure, get yourself an owners manual for the thing so you can figure out how to use it. If you are sure that you are operating in "position control", then I would say you have some linkage problems underneath the 3 point top cover. Get yourself a repair manual and follow the directions closely.
