What Ford called the 1000 series..the 1000-1900
I believe started with the model 1000 in 1973.

It is difficult to find the history of this series in one place. Often you find a description of the addition of the 1700 and the 1900 and then skip to the 1983 change to the 1x10 series. This is the stuff I am missing from the discussion:

Why is the 1200 and 1600 not included in the repair manual for the 1000's (it includes the 1000, 1300, 1500, 1700, and 1900. When were the 1200,1300,1500,1600 added to the series? Was this the first Japanese built Ford tractor? When was the manufacturer switch from Hinomoto to Shibaura?

Thanks for any info

Kim

Not sure which manual you are looking at, but the "1000" series factory manual should have the 1200, 1300, 1500, 1700, and 1900 in it. All these tractors were produced from '79-'82. The 1000 tactor was made from '73-'79, and the 1600 was made from '76-'78. I believe these are covered together in their own manual.

The 1000 tractor was the first Japanese built Ford to my knowledge.

The repair manual I got with the tractor has two parts one for the 1000 and then the addendum,
which is larger, for the 1300, 1500 1700 and 1900.
In most cases the illustrations are grouped as pertaining to 1300/1500 and 1700/1900.

Thanks for clearing up the dates, in the larger scheme of Ford tractors this seems to be a minor chapter, the 1x10 and 1x20 series being longer lived and better received I guess. But since I have a 1500 I am curious and feel left out *sniff*

Thanks

Kim

I would like to be able to purchase parts for my Ford 1000 tractor cheaper than at a dealer. I need to purchase a new radiator and a water pump. thanks.
