The 600 series were not manufactured in '54. The NAA (jubilee in '53) was made in '53 and '54. The 600 series was first made in 1955. There are some differences so you should know which you are looking at. Check out this website for information.

I wouldn't pay that much for either an NAA or a 600 however.

Dan Ford did produce 10,615 600/800 tractors in 1954 and they were sold as 1954 tractors , some of the ford serial number books list them some dont , early parts books ,have serial numbers lists in them that show them ,newer ones do not , I have some original ford literature that shows them as 1954 tractors , and have a 1954 860 serial #9164 that I purchased from the original owner 3or 4 years ago now , a very clean barn kept original Thanks Tony Jacobs

Bob, Even here in Washington thats quite a bit of dough. Unless shes in like new shape you should be able to dicker. What part of the state are you in? Here in the Seattle area they are a bit few and far between but over on the dry side they are more plentiful(read that as cheaper)

Just bought a 650 for $3300 which I believe is a fair price for its condition. The 650 has live hydraulics and non-live PTO. The tractor is in good mechanical condition and was recently painted. I would think for $4000 the tractor you are considering should be in exceptional condition. According to the Used Tractor Price Gudie published by Intertec the average price for a good 600 series tractor is about $3300. This should be a good value for comparison. Good luck with your purchase.

Bought an 800, 5spd, non-live pto, runs great, strong hydraulics, looks "Lumpy" (that's its new name) for $2500 this summer. Know of a 961 locally (Utah) that sold for somewhere around $3500. At least that was the asking price, don't actually know what it sold for. Original paint, ran good. You be the judge.

It depends on what "restored" means. If it means "new paint" then the price is probably too high. If it means everything is within factory tolerances, and the paint job is good, too, then it is a steal :-).

It would be too much money for me too for a 600, even if it has a 5 speed and live PTO. I think it would be the right price for an 861. I have no idea how Missouri prices compare with Washington prices though. I am going to an auction on Wednesday that is selling a 4000 diesel. It doesn't say if it is a 4 or a 3 cylinder. Should be interesting though.
