It seems like an unusual transmission for this model year. I am looking for a service manual that covers this transmision. Tractor# C182888
Model C1014E
Unit 1K11B
Engine 1A31A
Transmission 1J08B
Hydraulic 1J14A

Its my neighbor's tractor. When he contacted New Holland for an operators manual they sent #4340040 (SE3226) which covers 3400, 3500, 3550, 4400, 4500 industrial tractors. It mentions the s.o.s. His tractor is blue and plain w/ 3-pt hitch.

Great forum!
Thanks,
Brad

Go to link below. The tractor is a '71 3000, according to the #'s you posted. You should be able to get a manual from NH without difficulty. As far as I know, the SOS was discontinued in the early 70's, and was not available in a 3600. They were built from '76 to '81. That's why I would suggest that this is a 71. Certainly not a '79. HTH.

Re: Thanks, that explains a lot. in reply to Rod F., 09-23-2004 07:37:50
It does say 3600 on the outside of the hood panel that has the ID sticker. Maybe someone painted it and put the wrong stickers on it, hopefully not on purpose.

Thanks again for the useful link.

Do 65FTSM or BK013 apply? in reply to Brad Blazer, 09-22-2004 18:53:25
It looks like I can get those for a reasonable price.
