Ford 8630 (3000 hours). Audio alarm sounds and 4 lights (no's 22, 28, 30 and 31)flash on dash. When put into forward or reverse the tractor neutralises with gear shift still in fwd or reverse position. Anyone have any ideas please as this is costing us money each time it happens.

You say that LIGHTS on the dash flash? If they are lights, how are you numbering them? Or is it numbers that are flashing? Are there any unusual numbers flashing in the gear indicator display?

Bern. The numbers given are the numbers used in the manual to explain what the icons on the dash represent. The panel next to the gear shift has in the past given a coded number to explain what the problem is but today there is no coded number, the panel is still showing F7 or R7 depending on the selection I make, the tractor only moves half a wheel turn before it stops moving and the panel changes to 18 even though the gear shift is in F or R position. When I go to neutral position then forward or reverse i only get half a wheel turn before it neutralises again

Wayne, I'm somewhat confused here. Any fault codes relating to the transmission should be in the trans display only, and not on the dash. What fault codes have you seen previously on the gearshift display? And exactly what kind of icons are you seeing on the dash? What do they look like? What manual are you using to interpret these icons, the owners manual, or the service manual?

What I would do if I were you, before anything else, is go through a calibration procedure on the trans. It is fairly easy to do. It is detailed in the owners manual on page B21 of the copy I have here.
