I recently purchased a Ford 600, which is supposed to have been re-engined with an Industrial engine, IT has the 4-spd trans with HI-LO, 3-pt hitch and PTO, the only numbers on the engine are as follows: On the small pad on the left side of the engieis 4164, on the right E2JL 6015 AB. I would like to know the year, and model, and if this is the 172 or 134 red tiger engine, The motor came from a paver?? So I was told. Thanks for any help...

Bill,The industrail engine you have if you have read the numbers correctly is a 172 c.i.d. , 4/1/64 is the casting date of the block 4th day Jan. 1964 , E2JL 6015 AB IS THE BLOCK CASTING NUMBER , it should also have a fuel pump block off plate on the right hand side of the block . Thanks Tony Jacobs

Check the link below for lots of info on Ford "Hundred" series tractors. It will show you where to look for the s/n and how to decipher it. The number on the right side of the engine usually starts with either EAE (134 cu in) or EAF (172 inch). I don't know if you are misreading the E2JL or if that is a specific designation for an industrial engine. I don't claim to know anything about industrial engines. Good Luck.
