Can anyone tell me if the 1720 Ford New Holland tractor is a good tractor for Bush Hogging, tilling, plowing, and disking. I don't intend to get a loader. Is this a good tractor for the above jobs?

please reply..

Vern, I`ve got a 1720 that performs all the mentioned tasks very well and it has been very reliable also. You need to keep in mind that it`s not a large tractor so you should size the implement and speed accordingly. For example, I use a 5ft bush hog, tiller, and snowblower, 6ft back blade and discs, and a double 14 plow. I`ve never felt underpowered with this set up. I`d say buy it. You`ll never regret it.BTW, I also use it with a backhoe and loader. No problems there either.

If it is 4wd. I bit light for these tasks in 2wd.

I have a Ford 1720 w/loader. Works great. It can really get around in the woods. I have a rear mounted brush mower, 6 ft snow blade, landscaping blade and it handles them w/out a problem. What is the price on the 1720 and what year is it?

Vern...I think so. I have a similar but earlier and somewhat smaller Ford Compact mfwd. I use it in the woods and I have no experience with soil conditioning tasks, so I cant really say with any certainty. Will the dealer let you try it out or demonstrate it himself?
