Hey Robert. Good to see you here! You're not lost are you? :-)

Lift arm cross shaft seals are not o-rings, but rather conventional lip seals. They can be pried out and replaced fairly easy once you get the lift arms off. That's the kicker though, as sometimes those arms are rusted on. You may need some heat to get them off (they are straight splines). If you're lucky though, the splines will be so worn that the arms will come off very easy.

I hope you would see my post. thay dont ripe a man a new rear end over hear if i misspell one word. the new ones that NH sold me was an o-ring part #9800643 the old ones were o-rings.the splined
part had lots of wear so it was e-z. the pin for the arm was rusted in so it was no fun.the right side was ez, the lift side i pulled the shaft out as far azs it would go (about 1")than pulled the old seal out and cleaned it and rolled the new seal on. becouse this tractor has a cab on it I was wondering if i did it the right way. thank you ROBERT

Robert, after looking at your last message, I see that you were talking about the lower torsion bar seals, and not the lift cross shaft seals. That explains why you ran into o-rings, and not lip seals.

The RH side is easy to change, as you found out. The LH side cannot be pulled out all the way, also as you discovered, but it sounds to me like you did the best thing you could short of actually taking off the top cover so you could remove the shaft all the way.
