I have put 8 pictures on photopoint for you to look at if you would. Please let me know what kind of Ford you think I have. I've been told so many different things that all I know is its a ford. it's marked as a 621 but I've been told it can't be, rowcrop tractors were the 700 and 900's. Then I was told thats not true any ford could of been a row crop tractor. Engine doesn't have the typical hundred series codes. (see picture) It seems to have come with all the stuff a 621 didn't come with, so I'm confused. It has a 621 transmission case thats for sure but that fits most of the older fords. Please help and thanks. photos can be seen at www.photopoint.com view wjkrostek@gci.net then look at ford tractor

I looked at the pics (that wasn't so hard after all). I concur with other opinions...it looks like a 901 to me based on the grill and color scheme. The 621 on the trans case has got to be a boneyard replacement tranny. Is it a 4 or 5 speed trans? I'm going to try and post a link to your pics. Never tried this before so hold your breath...

It's a four speed. Thanks for the link and it works too. Did take a long time to load this time. where did you learn to do that, your right the link would be the way. I looked in some books last night but couldn't find making a link or what I thought I was looking for, there was some cut and past stuff but that did seem to apply. I'm lucky i can type. Thats two people for the 900 series, do you think it is a 174 engine? Have you seen engine numbers like that on hundred series tractors? I thought all Red Tiger engines had the EA????? ?? code?

I forgot to mention the engine code. Never seen a code like that so I have no idea what you have for an engine. Is that the bottom of the coil I see in that pic? If so, it would seem you are looking at the right place for the engine casting code.

As for posting the link, Here's how I did it:
1. Go to the site where the pic's are.
2. Put your mouse arrow on the address box.
3. Right click, then click "copy"
4. Go to the YTMag discussion board
5. Type in your post
6. Put your cursor in the "Optional Link URL:" box
7. Right click again
8. Click on "Paste"
9. Put your cursor in the "Link Title:" box
10. Type something in there (anything will work)

I tried using the Optional Image URL first, but that didn't work for the thumbnail page. Probably works fine for an individual image. This method works for posting links to any other website. If you know the URL by heart you can just type it in the URL link box without all the right clicking, copying, pasting, etc. It's fun, try it.

As for your tractor, looks like a Frankenford (or a Johnny Cash Special). But if it works and does what you need it to, why worry?

I got up most of your pictures and from the grill I would say Powermaster 900 high clear.row crop. If you will go to he bottom of yor page under ford links and click on vintage ford tractor resource I think you will be able to answer most of your questions.Good luck

Thanks for looking. The vintage Ford tractor page is a good page but my tractor doesn't seem to fall into the norm. I too thought it was a 900 series with a new transmission case but I just don't know enough about Fords. Thats why I thought I'd try and see if the pictures would work, I'm sure someone out there knows. If I could figure out where the motor came from, the code doesn't seem to be from the red tiger codes. Thanks again.

That's too complicated for a simpleton like me. Can't you just post the link to the photos?

By the way, I went to that site. Took forever for photos to load. I finally gave up.

I am a simpleton. I don't know how to do the link so I figured this way would work. Sorry if it took so long but at least someone got there. Maybe it was just busy when you tried. Is it too much to try again?

Bill, I'm no expert on the hundred series, but I don't think it's a 900 series, as I always thought that those were high crops (with the raised bull gear rear final drives). It could well be that you have a tractor assembled from different pieces, because the front frame looks 900 style to me. Maybe someone can correct me here: were all 900s high crop??

P.S. Photos loaded much faster this morning

Bern and Bill, As far as I can tell from the pictures on powerpoint and the pictures you sent me Bill it is definitly a Row crop tractor 1958 or 1959 , the engine casting 310609 is 1958-1959 standard numbers nothing mysterious, EAE/EAF are 1954-1957 prefixes only!!!, It does have the raised bull gear final drives and yes the front frame is the correct for the 901 series as is all the three point hitch linkage, I will bet money that it was a S.O.S. TRACTOR THAT SOMEONE BROKE AND THEN PUT THE FOUR SPEED OUT OF 621 INDUSTRAIL TRACTOR IN IT , it's been done before. The rear wheels are from a 8N tractor , the old HAT STYLE rims that are usually rusted out , they probably put them on there because the power adjust wheels were all rusted out and did not work . Thanks Tony Jacobs p.s. Bill I did send you a reply to your e-mail before I got to this site .

Tony, I guess I didn't look very close at those pictures. After going back, I did see those raised final drives that you talked about.

One thing is for sure, you are king of the hundred series around here!

Have a good one.

Bern, Thanks for the compliments, But I don't know if King is the right word to use, The 1953-1965 Ford 4 cyls. are my speciality because of the Elenco front ends, so it has taken years to notice all the details remember and list all the casting numbers and dates etc., etc., You know what I mean you have been working on equipment as long as I have.It just comes with being detail oriented , knowledgeable about the equipment you work on all the time. Thanks Tony Jacobs

In other word, if you're doing it right, you naturally get good at what you do every day.
